The Mudslide of October 2005 has caused a lot of need for reconstruction. Some 5,000 families near Lake Atitlan lost their homes and are currently living in temporary structures waiting for the Guatemalan government to provide new land for them to rebuild on. In the mean time, we have several schools that need to be built. Latrines also need to be built to help prevent disease amongst the displaced mudslide victims who live in close quarters and poor housing.
