There are several volcanoes in the area around Lake Atitlan. Some are dormant. Some are not. They make for excellent hiking trips. Don’t worry even the active ones aren’t violent. So whether you are looking for an exciting story to tell people back at home or just looking to take some spectacular pictures of the Guatemalan highlands, climbing a volcano is a must do!!!
